Mission Statement

To initiate and stimulate interest and participation

in the arts for the Allegan area

WE CELEBRATED OUR 25TH YEAR IN 2022!

The first Allegan Area Arts Council board was formed in 1977 by a group of residents who wished to both promote the arts as well as offer more arts opportunities to the public. It soon became an official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. 

WHAT WE DO

ARTS PROMOTION

We promote area arts classes and sponsor annual events that allow artists to sell their work. 

PUBLIC ART

We organized and helped fund the installation of the first public kinetic sculpture in Allegan and we entirely funded a commissioned "community-paint" mural with a West Michigan fruit theme - the largest mural in Allegan - to celebrate our 25th year.

ARTS EDUCATION & ENRICHMENT

We award arts camp scholarships to high school students, offer summer art camp for children, offer trips to museums, and offer arts workshops for all ages
